Tuesday's Best Bet: Alpine can climb high

Embed from Getty Images
Tippin' Jimmy's #TheOne won for a third time yesterday, he hopes to complete a hat-trick in Bangor today.

12:55 Bangor - Dostal Phil (5/6)
JP McManus has such a good team this season, and there's no reason why this one can't be up there as the best. He has only had one career start, but he won his French bumper in very good style indicating he had the potential to be a very smart horse. He cost just under £300,000 and can start to repay that expensive cost with a Welsh win here.

2:30 Bangor - Alpine Secret (10/3)
Ben Pauling's yard are in great form, and expectations will be high this novice can break his chasing debut this afternoon. He was a decent hurdler, but always one to improve going over a fence. On his first start he was pulled-up but hated the heavy ground, and returning to good ground will suit him much better. Although his defeat was disappointing the handicapper has dropped him a lot, and he can utilise that mark this afternoon.

2:50 Chepstow - Wylde Magic (11/8)
Evan Williams' nice six-year-old makes his seasonal bow at Chepstow, having capped off last season with a promising Grade Three third at Sandown. He wasn't totally at his best that day, and he lost out to stable rival Prime Venture in second. Adam Wedge chose this horse, probably expecting a better performance that day. He comes here fresh, only 2lb higher and capable of better things.

5:40 Wolverhampton - Jellmood (11/10)
Marco Bott's two-year-old seems to have done everything but win in four starts this season. He lost out by a head at Ascot, before filling the same role at Yarmouth a month later. The two horses he lost to have gone on to do better things, so that form stacks up very highly. He pulled-up last time and has had a break since that listed run, he should be able to take this.

Monday's Best Bets: Doors can open your winnings Early on

Embed from Getty Images
Tippin' Jimmy enjoyed four winners yesterday, and gives us his selections from Monday's racecard.

12:45 Leicester - Strategic (12/1)
Richard Hannon's two-year-old has shown plenty of promise, but deserves to win a race soon enough. He wan't too far away when fifth at Salisbury and third at Brighton. He was sent off favourite on his nursery debut but only finished seventh and something must have been amiss. He has been lowered 2lb, and should have a chance if back in form.

1:00 Wexford - Early Doors (4/5)
Winning this will be a formality, however despite the huge potential Early Doors has, he needs to be on form. His bumper win was really impressive, before following up with a third place finish in a competitive contest. Hurdling should be his game, and he looks a very smart prospect in the making for Joseph O'Brien.

1:05 Redcar - Sea Youmzain (4/5)
Mark Johnston's juvenile made a very encouraging start to life when second at Leicester. That was a hot race and like most she should improve from the outing, she should run a big race providing she steps up to the standard.

2:15 Redcar - Silver Link (6/1)
Marcus Tregoning's three-year-old has been a consistent type this season, and deserves to go one better than her placed form. She finished a runner-up on two starts, before finding traffic problems when fourth on her last outing at Nottingham. She hasn't been to this track before, but with a bit more luck she can strike here.

Sunday's Best Bets: Nicholls' Pinceau can prove a Coup

Embed from Getty Images
Tippin' Jimmy turns his attention to the jumps card from Aintree, Wincanton and Galway in Ireland.

12:40 Aintree - On The Blind Side (9/4)
This nice improving type for Nicky Henderson will be a much better chaser than hurdler, but can make a winning start over in Britain today. He was impressive on his sole success in point-to-point company and could be tough to stop on his stable debut.

1:00 Wincanton - Steely Addition (6/1) ew
A horse that is bound to win races for Philip Hobbs this season is Steely Addition, who was all set for a win at Exeter last time out before falling. That race wasn't as competitive as this but he remains on the same mark and deserves a bit more luck today.

1:35 Wincanton - Coup De Pinceau (13/8)
I must be owed one after the NAP was so unlucky yesterday for Paul Nicholls. This horse looks a very smart horse in the making for Paul Nicholls, winning two bumpers before finishing second to an eventual Grade Two winner on his only start over hurdles. Sam Brown is a fierce rival, but hopefully he should get the better of him.

1:40 Galway - Calno D'airy (11/10)
Henry De Bromhead's five-year-old was a really good winner at this venue earlier this month, and that form has subsequently been boosted with the second winning on Thursday. He won well that day and remains in a similar sort of race, he should be very tough to stop.

2:10 Wincanton - Favorito Buck's (15/2) ew
A frustrating horse to follow, Paul Nicholls' five-year-old ran some good races last year but just failed to kick on and win his races. His trainer knows how to get the very best out of his horses, and he should find some improvement this season. He has excellent potential.

2:25 Aintree - Burbank (6/1)
Burbank's Neptune fourth is probably the strongest bit of form in this race, but he will have to overcome top weight if he is to take this prize. He seems the type to have a few wins in him in handicap company, and I expect him to kick off a good campaign here.

3:00 Aintree - Shantou Village (7/2)
Some trainers just have one that makes them very excited and I know this is the one that Neil Mulholland is waiting on. He missed out on Cheltenham last year, but expectations are high he can reach the very top this time around. This Old Roan looks tough, but he's weighted nicely and the reports over the summer have been very promising.

4:35 Galway - Gallaghers Cross (6/5)
Point-to-point form is never the most reliable but when a horse flies home to win by eight lengths then you have to take note. Peter Fahey's five-year-old was quite impressive in that win and looks like the type who will continue to improve on his bumper debut. Gordon Elliott and Noel Meade are well represented, but he should go well.

Fox Norton, Shantou Village and Wholestone all won on this card last year, who can follow in their footsteps?

2:00 - Robinsfirth (15/2)
This run looks to be an experience to learn a bit more about Robinsfirth, who I think has the potential to be very good indeed. He won really well at Exeter on New Year's Day, but unseated his rider later on in the month. He always looked a good chaser in the making, and in time he will want a longer trip, but he's on a handy mark and if he is fit he should run a fine race.

2:35 - Bedrock (10/11)
According to the ratings Bedrock is very much the one to beat, and I totally agree. He was a very smart flat runner and ran well last season with a third place finish in Grade One company. He's two from two this season, and has jumped very well. He comes here as the one to beat, and with conditions fine I expect him to win.

3:10 - Some Plan (11/1) , Vaniteux (12/1) ew
Some Plan comes here with a very good record for Henry De Bromhead. He won two very good races last year, beating the likes of Road To Respect in Arkle trials. He finished the year very poorly and has a few questions to ask. His first run back was very poor, but potentially the switch to handicapping could bring him back to his best.

Vaniteux is a horse I really liked and profited from last season for Nicky Henderson, who has now joined up with David Pipe. He won a few good races and is on a nice mark that he should be up to placing with, his each-way value is quite good.

Vaniteux makes his first start for David Pipe this afternoon

3:45 - Stick To The Plan (8/1)
Stick To The Plan was arguably the most unluckiest loser you may see all season for Dan Skelton. He was cantering clear before the jockey fell off yards off securing a brilliant win. He is a smart prospect, who maintains his current mark and should run well. He will like the conditions on offer, and carries a low riding weight. He's a progressive type and should have a huge chance.

4:20 - Alcala (7/4)
Paul Nicholls will be hoping he can get one more win into this horse before he loses his novice status, and he should be able to. He won some top races over the summer, and looked to be travelling well before slipping up at Chepstow last time. I expect him to be too good against this competitive field today.

4:45 - Dashing Perk (8/1)
Richard Newland really rates Dashing Perk, and thinks he could progress into a very good hurdler this season. His bumper form was decent, finishing second at Chepstow on his last outing and fifth in a very hot race at Ascot in December. If he takes to hurdling, goes on the good ground, and gets around Cheltenham okay he can run a good race.

5:30 - Cracking Destiny (5/2), Brianstorm (14/1)
Nicky Henderson knows a good horse when he sees one, and this is a prime example of one that will do really well for him. Cracking Destiny was sold for £100,000 after an encouraging victory in an Irish point and looks like a smart prospect in the making. He should have enough quality to see off this field.

Brianstorm seems a topical name after the recent weather problems, and I expect he can be the one causing some trouble. He won his point, before moving to Warren Greatrex's yard. He is well liked at home, and despite only finishing fifth in a bumper a fortnight ago he should be able to step up from that.

The day's NAP comes from Kelso's eight runner card

Tippin' Jimmy gives us his thoughts from the other day's meetings.

1:10 Newbury - Expensive Liason (9/4)
Hugo Palmer has a very nice filly here and she could be up to striking on the second time of asking in Berkshire. Her debut fifth is strong form, and she seems the type to improve from that run especially on this ground. She is a good filly, and one to watch next season, she should be up to breaking her maiden.

1:25 Leopardstown - Hence (2/1)
Ballydoyle could be in for a very special day at Doncaster, but this horse should be up to the task for Aidan O'Brien over in Ireland. She has slowly been progressing, and ran well when second at Cork, expectations will be that she will go one better

2:25 Kelso - Give Me A Copper (8/11) NAP
I really like this seven-year-old and I think he is the type that can continue to improve throughout the rest of the season for Paul Nicholls. He is quite unexposed, and it's always difficult to judge how a horse will do on their chasing debut, but he won a very strong race at Ayr last time out and has the potential to be a very classy horse.

3:55 Newbury - Model (12/1)
I really like this horse, and I know Richard Hannon thinks she could be top class. A debut winner, she makes her return after an eighth place finish in France last time out. I expect another big run from her today and what looks a good price.

Movewiththetimes could be an excellent novice chaser this season

2:00 - Brillare Momento (6/5)
Local trainer Martin Keighley loves coming to his nearest track, and he should be returning home as a winner today with his nice mare Brillare Momento. A two-time winner over hurdles last season, she was a comfortable listed winner over a similar trip and ground. She lost out to a potentially smart horse on her only start of the season, but should be better here.

2:35 - Movewiththetimes (2/1)
I really liked this horse last year for Paul Nicholls, and I really thought he would run well in the Supreme but sadly he didn't make it. He makes his return for the first time since his second place finish in the Betfair Hurdle. This is his first start over fences, and Sceau Royal has the winning experience, but ha has the potential to go to the top.

3:10 - Potters Story (22/1) ew
Peter Bowen's five-year-old is one that will really improve going on conditions at Cheltenham today. He ran a fine race to win really well at Ffos Las back in February, and finished second at Haydock when last seen at March. He should improve over time, and he looks like he could be on a good mark for these sort of handicaps.

3:45 - Fagan (7/4)
Fagan has established himself with novice chasing rather well for Gordon Elliott, and he could add a second win here today. He was going better than Beat That, who renewals the rivalry, at Perth prior to his last fence fall and his defeat to Ballyandy was only by a length. He should be too good for this field on the form of his Albert Bartlett second.

4:20 - Presenting Julio (4/1), Capard King (14/1) ew
Jamie Codd is a popular rider in Cheltenham, and he travels over to ride this good looking horse for Gordon Elliott. He won smartly at Killarney on his last outing over fences, and makes a step up in trip today. He's rated lower as a chaser than a hurdler, and he can utilise that mark to win once again today.

Jonjo O'Neill's Capard King is on a handy mark, and deserves to win a race after some good efforts. He should enjoy the conditions and he likes the track.

4:45 - Slate House (6/5) NAP
I think this may be a really good horse, and may come back here as one of the best come March. Colin Tizzard likes his five-year-old, who comes here after an impressive ten length success in an Irish point. He was an expensive purchase and is clearly a very classy horse making his rules debut today. He hasn't raced for a year, so will need the run, but hopefully he should prove way too classy.

5:30 - Dreamcatching (13/2), Percy Street (7/1)
Paul Nicholls has plenty of chances in Gloucestershire, and he will be confident of a good run from three time winner Dreamcatching. He hasn't been raised too high up the weights, is open to improvement, and should appreciated the good ground on offer at the Cotswold.

Percy Street is another leading horse for Nicky Henderson. He finished sixth in last year's Fred Winter on his last visit here, and is rated 4lb lower today. The quick ground will help, and he should step up from his midfield effort at Chepstow last time out.

Tippin' Jimmy is expecting Jim Crowley to have a winner with Alaadel

1:40 Newbury - No More Thrills
Richard Hannon's juvenile made a solid debut when third at Kempton, and was picking up well at the end when rather green in running. That run was promising and he looks the type to improve from it, he's well bred and deserves to be running well again here.

4:30 Newbury - Alaadel
Alaadel hasn't tasted victory since his debut back in May but could step up from his encouraging place form to strike in Berkshire today. He was an unlucky loser at Ffos Las last month, and was a tad outstayed over seven earlier this month. With conditions to suit, he should run a nice race.

7:30 Dundalk - Goldrush
I have always been keen on the £1.2 million daughter of Frankel, and with a ludicrously big price tag she was always going to win a maiden and weak listed, so why not again. She has been really quite impressive in her two wins, and looks like a Group horse in the making. She should take this comfortably.

Thursday's Best Bets: A great day for Glen

Embed from Getty Images
Tippin’ Jimmy has five selections across Thursday’s racecard.

1:55 Ludlow – Sgroppino (10/3)
Richard Johnson goes to Ludlow this afternoon, and I imagine this horse could be one of the ones he is looking forward to riding. The five-year-old makes his novice hurdling debut this afternoon, following two runs in bumpers. He finished a strong second on debut, splitting two very good horses, before things going against him at Newbury last time. Today he can make amends.

2:15 Carlisle – Manitowoc County (9/2)
Brian Ellison’s five-year-old looks to be the type to improve now tested over hurdles. He won a good point-to-point contest, before finishing fourth in a bumper at Sedgefield last month. He hasn’t experienced ground like this before, which is a concern, but the step up in trip and change to hurdling is a big positive and he could be up to winning here.

3:00 Ludlow – Valhalla (5/2)
Valhalla is a horse I think is a great little handicapper, who always goes and wins one every now and then for Colin Tizzard. He loves tracks like Ludlow, and I think he can find a bit of improvement following his Stratford third earlier this month. He should’ve won that day but his jumping let him down, and he may have got a little tired. He has been dropped by the handicapper, he should be up to returning to winning ways today.

3:25 Thurles – Glens Harmony (8/13)
Willie Mullins’ Glens Harmony made an excellent racecourse return last month when second in a listed contest, and she ought to go one better now dropped in grade. She goes hurdling now, and goes off against her own sex. Better ground would suit her, and she is like many horses on show today that may improve to switching over obstacles.

4:45 Southwell – Hidden Glen (6/4)
Ben Pauling’s four-year-old makes his debut in Southwell’s final race this afternoon, and expectations are high that he can make a winning start today. He is a quick horse and has apparently been showing all the right signs at home. He should run well.

7:15 Chelmsford – Diagnostic (Evs)
Ryan Moore returns in the saddle of Diagnostic for William Haggas. This progressing three-year-old has looked pretty smart in two runs this season, stepping up from a debut second to win impressively at this venue a fortnight ago. She looked a very good horse in the making that day, and can well strike again in this handicap contest.

Wednesday's Best Bets: Noble all ready for Kempton conquest

Embed from Getty Images
Tippin' Jimmy will have a tips for EVERY Cheltenham meeting, starting on Friday. He has five across today's card.

2:55 Newmarket - Elwazir (11/8)
Owen Burrows' has a very smart in the making with Elwazir, who finished a very fast finishing second at this venue a month ago. He returns here in a much weaker race, and deserves to go one better. He's an expensive purchase and deserves to be breaking his maiden in this.

3:20 Worcester - Shall We Go Now (9/4)
Harry Fry has established himself as one of the leading trainers in the country, so when he says he likes a horse you listen. That's why I can't let Shall We Go Now out of my selections of the day. He's never visited the racecourse, but is bred very well and deserves to run well in this contest. Hopefully he should make a winning start, with expectations very high.

5:20 Navan - Espoir D'Soleil (9/4)
I like this horse and she should win a handicap off a mark like this. She ran really well ten days ago when second, and goes against the girls now. She's improving and looks to have a bit more improvememt in her. I think she could be potentially quite smart, so I have to think she will run very well in Ireland this afternoon.

5:40 Worcester - Melangerie (13/8)
I followed Nicky Henderons's Melangerie last season, and was both impressed and profiting from her victories at Market Rasen and Cheltenham. She is a nice novice prospect going over hurdles especially against her own sex. She should be up to winning this rather comfortably.

8:20 Kempton - Noble Conquest (9/2)
I expected Sir Michael Stoute to be celebrating this horse breaking his maiden at Thirsk last time out, but he bumped into a top horse of David O'Meara's who has subsequently won and finished second since. That form is rather strong, and his opening mark of 83 looks okay. He is beautifully bred, and should be winning soon.
