2:40 Windsor – Valcartier (7/4)
A beautifully bred prospect for John Gosden and Godolphin,
and one who should be up to winnint this contest. He broke his maiden in very
convincing style, and his mark of 90 is quite low considering the manner in
which he defeated the field. He’s bred to be very good, and should be up to
winning what doesn’t look the strongest of handicaps.
3:40 Windsor – Chelsea Lad NAP (2/1)
This is one of a few horses I am desperate to keep backing,
I think he’s going to be really good. He’s had his issues with injuries, and is
very ground dependant, but has plenty of ability. He’s got a very nice handicap
mark, and he will surely beat it each time he visits the racecourse. He was
last seen running well at York, and in this easier race he should take all the
beating. He’ll love the bit of cut in the ground, and will bully on this
handicap mark.
4:25 Cartmel – Lofgren (9/4)
An improving type for Donald McCain who seems to be good
enough to take this. He’s won two races this year, both in good style and
finished second at Aintree when last seen. He needed a longer trip that day,
which he gets. It should benefit him significantly, and having ‘A P Heskin’
next to his name is another huge positive.
