Tippin’ Jimmy has three tips from Monday’s racecard.
4:45 Windsor – Manchego (12/1) ew
This is a horse that I have been keeping a close eye on this
season. Hugo Palmer’s three-year-old was well thought of at the start of the
year, and built on a debut second to win well in a Wolverhampton maiden. Since
then he hasn’t fired, and he has a bit to prove today. But he has been dropped
4lb from the handicapper and I believe he is on a winnable mark.
4:55 Kempton – Ortiz (4/5)
Henry Candy’s Ortiz looked like a classy horse in the making
when winning at this track last month, and he could be up to winning again
today. The two-year-old won nicely by
two lengths over today’s trip and the horse he beat, Iconic Knight, has a fair
bit of form behind him. He’s an advancing two-year-old and there may still be a
bit more to come from him.
5:25 Kempton – Sergio Leone (3/1)
Andrea Atzeni and Richard Hannon team up with Sergio Leone,
another improving prospect at Kempton this evening. He stepped up from an
encouraging debut to finish second at Windsor, when beaten easily by classy
juvenile Take Me With You. That horse is Group placed, and was always going to
win that maiden, but he beat the rest of the field by five lengths. He bumped
into one, and his time to shine should be today.
