Wednesday's Best Bets: Mizen will Master Kempton finale

Tippin’ Jimmy has six selections on Wednesday’s card, including a big fancy in the last.

2:10 Bangor – Big Penny (5/2)
I watched this race at Worcester a while back and this horse was sent off a strong favourite that day and could only finish second. He lost out to Whatdjazz who looked good that day and has gone on to win two more times for Dan Skelton. Big Penny has the potential to progress the same, and he can begin his improvement in Wales this afternoon. It’s her first run since May, but if she is firing then she should run a huge race.

3:40 Naas – Forever Together (12/1) ew
Ballydoyle don’t have too many debut winners in a season, but in this weak maiden affair second string Forever Together may have a good say. He went for a massive €900,000 in the sales ring, and comes from a very good family. My main concern is that he is the second pick for the yard, with Seamie Heffernan going onto Gloriously. But Forever Together is a huge price, and is certainly worth backing each-way.

4:30 Nottingham – Mooltazem (11/2)
John Gosden has been in great form this season, and his yard must have be in great spirits after Enable’s Arc success. Hopefully that good feeling can rub off onto Mooltazem, who makes his fourth career start this afternoon. He was an impressive winner back at Ripon in July, before only finishing third in a handicap on the all-weather. Off the same mark as Chelmsford he should go much better, and a big run is expected.

4:45 Naas – Conquest (11/2)
A second selection of the day for Aidan O’Brien goes to an interesting runner in Conquest in the nursery. She is really well bred, coming from a Group One winning dam and a full sister to the great Minding, but hasn’t shown her best in three runs in maiden company. She was rather poor last time when tenth at the Curragh, now at handicap level she should go well.

8:10 Kempton - Ply (4/5)
Making his second start in nine days is Ply for Roger Charlton and Kieran Shoemark. He won really well at this venue when breaking the course record back last week, and if he is still at his best he should go very close here. The handicapper will put him up 11lb for that run, but today he only goes up 6lb. The run has come quite quickly, but if he is ready for it he should be too good.

9:10 Kempton - Mizen Master (3/1) NAP
Olly Murphy must not like me as every time I tip a horse it runs badly. I am confident today that changes. Mizen Master is a very useful hurdler rated 127, and switches back to the flat this evening. He has been a revelation this season, and has improved a lot whilst his flat rating has remained unchanged. He looks very good on this mark and he has to be my banker of the week.

Lucky 15 (Mooltazem/Conquest/Ply/Mizen Master)
