Saturday's Best Bets: Escape can win at a Rapid rate

Tippin' Jimmy had a sensational five winners from six yesterday, and he hopes to repeat his glory from Saturday's card.

12:40 Ascot - Desiremoi D'Authie (15/8)
Alan King's French import made a promising start to racing in the UK when second at Huntingdon last month, and could go one better. He was very keen that day, and probably got a bit tired against a race-fit rival. With that experience in his favour, he has a leading chance this afternoon.

1:30 Wetherby - Born Survivor (5/4)
Dan Skelton thinks this horse could go right to the top and he is another I am quite looking forward to seeing over fences. He was rated 143 over hurdles, but connections insist that he should be much better as a chaser. I am expecting a big performance from him today, and think he could be a nice novice chaser this season.

1:50 Ascot - Copain De Classe (11/2)
Another nice novice chaser is Copain De Classe for Paul Nicholls. He is built, jumps and made for chasing making his first start over fences today. He won twice over hurdles, and has shown a lot of potential. He won tidily against a nice prospect last time out, and he can continue to progress this year.

2:45 Ayr - Lake View Lad (13/2)
Nick Alexander's Lake View Lad will absolutely relish the heavy going at Ayr this afternoon. He's won on this ground on two occasions, and looks to be an improving prospect on his first run back since November. He always runs well fresh and I am expecting a very bold show from him.

3:05 Down Royal - Disko (13/8)
I really rate Disko and think he could be a leading chaser this season for Noel Meade. He was last seen winning really well in a Grade One at Punchestown, and he could still have improvement in him for this season. Reports from home are really encouraging and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do.

3:35 Ascot - Emerging Force (8/1)
Harry Whittington really thinks a lot of Emerging Force, and is plotting his way to the Grand National this year. He ran well at Aintree last month, and has subsequently been dropped 3lb by the handicapper. He goes well fresh, is on a suitable mark, and could be worth an investment here.

4:10 Down Royal - Rapid Escape (Evs)
Gordon Elliott's four-year-old made a very promising start to life when winning a point-to-point on debut.  He won easily by ten lengths, and certainly looks a smart prospect. His rules debut was a tough ask when fifth in the Goffs bumper in Punchestown. He steps down in grade, and should improve from that effort. He is a smart prospect in making.
