Friday's Best Bets: Roi can roll them over

Tippin' Jimmy talks us through his best bets from Friday's racecard.

12:35 Newmarket - Maghaweer (3/1)
I really thought Maghaweer would have won at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago, but he could only finish third and remains a maiden. He should be winning a contest soon, and he could be hard to beat if he improves a bit more.

12:40 Down Royal - Poli Roi (4/9)
Gordon Elliott thinks the world of this horse, and he is expected to make a winning start this afternoon. He won two bumpers last year, before finishing third at Punchestown's Grade One contest. His hurdling debut was encouraging, but a mistake two out cost him a defeat. With smoother jumping he should be hard to stop.

12:50 Wetherby - Knight Commander (9/2)
Olly Murphy's Knight Commander quickly found his place in the handicap when winning two races on the trot, and there should be a tiny bit more to come from him. He has been sent off a short favourite in his last three outings over hurdles but failed to get his head in front. This longer trip may suit him, and he deserves to be winning soon.

1:00 Uttoxeter - Dame De Compagnie (8/11)
I know as a fact Nicky Henderson thinks this horse is going to the very top, and she should make a winning debut at Uttoxeter this afternoon for the champion trainer. She has moved over from France, where on her final start she went very close to winning over hurdles. She looked to have lost out to a good horse that day, and she has the potential to be pretty smart.

1:35 Uttoxeter - Who's My Jockey (9/4)
Philip Hobbs' Who's My Jockey ran a decent race at this track a few weeks back when third in his debut over hurdles, and that should put him in the right shape to win now. He was about two lengths back from what looked a smart winner in Palmer's Hill and he does face another strong rival from Jonjo O'Neill again in Fleminport.

2:45 Uttoxeter - River Wylde (8/11)
River Wylde is one of the most exciting chasing prospects in Britain this season for Nicky Henderson. He enjoyed a fair share of success over hurdles, and capped off a good year with a Supreme third. Reports indicate that he has been schooling well and connections believe he will have a good season. The going should be fine, and the track isn't too testing for him. My only concern is Hell's Kitchen for Harry Fry.
