Tippin' Jimmy talks us through his best bets from the weekend, following a few winners yesterday.
Cheltenham
12:40 - Apple's Shakira (2/1)
I love it when a trainer 'knows' they have a good one and Nicky Henderson certainly thinks this one is that. he's got a fair bit to prove here as he has only ever been seen once. She won her sole start really well and is reported to be an excellent hurdler. I am excited to see her and she should go very well for the champion.
1:15 - Ballyoptic (5/4)
This is such a horrible little race, as you never know whether the pace is too fast or too slow. I am just hoping Ballyoptic can reproduce his sensational victory at Ffos Las last month. He took apart a very good field in very good style and I think he is a very good chasing prospect in the making.

1:50 - Minella Rocco (5/1)
I find this handicap very hard to judge but I think the class of Minella Rocco will prevail here. He should come on from his disappointing run in Ireland, and can return to winning ways.

2:25 - Kylemore Lough (13/2), Aqua Dude (20/1) ew
Harry Fry has mapped this race out for Kylemore Lough for such a long time and his patience could be rewarded today. This one has got a fair bit of class, is on a winnable mark and gets perfect conditons.
Aqua Dude could be a good each-way bet here. Evan Williams' runner won very well on his last start and looks to have a lot of potential.

3:00 - Thomas Campbell (13/8)
He's another exciting prospect for the Seven Barrows team and could add a second victory in a row here. He shaped very well when winning here last month and faces a 10lb rise, but I think he will improve a lot now stepped up to three miles. He's a top prospect and one of the best bets of the day, he has to have a massive chance.
3:30 - Poker Play (11/1), Follow The Bear (12/1)
The forecasted rain will be very well received by David Pipe, who saddles Poker Play. He's very unexposed but cost a fair share in the sales, and deserves to go well first time out. He acts on soft ground, and the team have been planning to take him here for some time. He's on a nice mark, and reports from indicate he has improved a lot too.
Follow The Bear certainly needed the run when a disappointing third last month, but I am expecting a much improved run from the five-year-old here. He's on a nice mark, and could be there or thereabouts at the end for the Nicky Henderson team.

4:00 - Outofthisworld (3/1), Posh Trish (9/2)
Another that is thought quite highly of is Outofthisworld for Harry Fry, who won pretty well on her first start at Market Rasen in March. Conditions look to suit and she can go well.
Posh Trish was an expensive purchase for the Highclere team and looks to have a decent chance once again.

12:05 Punchestown - Mitchouka (4/9)
Gordon Elliott has plenty of smart horses in the yard, and this looks another fine example for him. He stepped up from a narrow hurdle defeat to strike impressively by 10 lengths. This race looks more than winnable for him, and he looks like a very nice horse in the making.
12:50 Uttoxeter - Monty's Award (10/11)
Charlie Longsdon really rates this novice hurdler, and he should record a second career success in the Midlands this afternoon. He won his bumper very well, and ran well on his hurdling debut behind two pretty good horses. There is so much improvement to come from him, and I can't wait to see how he gets on.
1:05 Wetherby - Ami Desbois (6/4)
It is unbelieveable how much Graeme McPherson rates this horse and he truly thinks he's going to the top. He makes his chasing debut today, but over two miles and not three. He should be good enough here, but it is a tough return.

1:25 Uttoxeter - Lastbutnotleast (13/8)
Donald McCain told me he really likes this horse, and she can establish her place as a leading novice chaser. She was a very good hurdler, and according to ratings she is the joint-best in this race. She is only going to get better now chasing, and goes best over this trip and on this ground. She acts best going fresh so there's no reason why she can't run really well.
