Tippin' Jimmy talks us through his five best bets from Thursday's card.

12:40 Newbury - Claimantakinforgan (8/13)
On paper Claimantakinforgan is the best novice hurdler that Nicky Henderson has last season. His Champion Bumper third puts him right at the top of the pecking order and he looks well set for a winning start in Berkshire today. He is reported to be working well, and he should be up to getting off the mark first time out for the champion trainer.

2:10 Newbury - Countister (3/1)
Nicky Henderson really likes this mare and she has a strong chance on her British debut. She is reported to be a good prospect for Seven Barrows, and won two Grade Two bumpers in France before her move to England. This is a competitive contest, but she looks set to go very well.

2:45 Newbury - Topofthegame (6/5) #TheOne
I really cannot wait to see this one make his chasing debut at Newbury. He's very unexposed having won once over hurdles, and was last seen finishing a very close second at Ascot. That form was pretty strong, but he is most certainly a chaser in the making and I have every reason to believe he will go to the top of the ranks for Paul Nicholls.

3:55 Newbury - Du Destin (8/1)
Making his debut for Nicky Henderson is Du Destin, representing Middleham Park Racing. He comes from an excellent family and is reported to be working excellently at home. He seems the type that could run well in bumpers and I am expecting a very nice performance from him first time out.

6:15 Chelmsford - Gronkowski (4/1)
Jeremy Noseda thinks an awful lot of this two-year-old who finished a runner-up at Newmarket last time out. He has a good American pedigree so should like this surface, he is the type to keep improving and looks a progressive type. Big Kitten is a big danger after two seconds, but he should have a big chance of breaking his maiden.

7:15 Chelmsford - Middle Kingdom (13/8)
John Gosden was planning to take Middle Kingdom to the Dante at one point, but things never turned out right and he could reward his connections' long patience today. An expensive purchase, he hasn't been seen since extending his unbeaten record to two at Newmarket in April. His pedigree suggests he should act on this new surface, whilst he has dealt with a break before too.
