Friday's Best Bets: Colibri can conquer

Tippin' Jimmy has picked out some selections for Friday's racing, he will have his exclusive tips for Arc weekend on the site.

4:30 Haydock – Royal Associate (4/1)
Godolphin’s Royal Associate could score for the third time in his career, as he drops back to handicap level in Lancashire. He won his first two starts in good style, before finishing a disappointing seventh in listed company last time out. He will appreciate the ground, and he should perform much better than last time out.

5:05 Haydock – Colibri (13/2)
Hugo Palmer rated this horse so highly last season, and sadly he hasn’t produced much in his three-year-old campaign this season. He’s a horse that appreciates wet ground, so conditions at Haydock should suit, whilst another drop in the weights is always an advantage. He will need to improve but he is a horse with a fair bit of abilty, and he could strike here with optimum conditions.

5:20 Newmarket – Addeybb (4/1)
Ryan Moore has teamed up with William Haggas as he attempts to win the Silver Cambridgeshire with this smart handicapper Addeybb. He has won two starts from four, and was last seen running a strong third place finish at Goodwood last time out. He remains on this mark of 93, and with the master in the saddle he should be going close to adding a third victory to his name. Roger Varian's horse is a danger.

6:15 Newcastle – Dubai Elegance (8/1)
Another horse who could get back to winning ways this afternoon is Godolphin’s Dubai Elegance in the North East. He won really well at maiden level over six, but he hasn’t produced too much in three handicap starts since. Last time out he wasn’t defeated too far at Kempton, and should be able to go well after another drop in the weights.

7:30 Dundalk – Duplication (12/1)

Joseph O’Brien’s Duplication is one of those horses I think has a bright future. He is bred well, and went for a big price in the sales ring. He won quite well at this venue last time out to register a second career success. He will relish the extra furlong, and this sprinter is a huge price to go well in this competitive contest.
