Tippin' Jimmy casts his view over Saturday's big meeting at Haydock, searching for a fourth consecutive NAP success.

Haydock

1:20 - Time Chaser (Evs)
I spoke to Roger Charlton regarding this horse only yesterday, and he couldn't say a bad thing about her and is expecting a good run. She is a full-sister to a good horse in Time Test, and is unbeaten in three starts at handicap level. She is unbeaten and it's hard to know whether this latest step up will be too much, but she has a lot of potential and may be better than this level.

1:50 - Dee Ex Bee (4/1), Dubhe (5/1)
I have really struggled with this race, but my verdict has to go to Dee Ex Bee for Mark Johnston. He was a really good maiden winner at Glorious Goodwood, and looked like a high-class colt in the making. A favourite at York, he could only finish sixth on the Knavesmire and that was rather disappointing. Today we will find out which run is his true self.

Dubhe is another who has looked like a very smart horse this year. Out of a Irish Oaks winning dam, he broke his maiden on soft ground very well, and could make into a very useful pattern horse. He takes a significant step up to listed level, but has a lot of potential.

2:25 - Tasleet (9/2) NAP
With talk of Harry Angel and Brando hot this week, William Haggas' progressive Tasleet has been a forgotten horse in the race. He is a soft ground specialist, and gets ideal conditions this afternoon. He's won at Group Two level in the Duke Of York, and that was in convincing style, and gone close at Royal Ascot. He's a top level winner in waiting, and today he gets his optimum ground and may go very well.

3:00 -  Soie D' Leau (13/2) , Orvar (18/1) ew
Last year's winner Soie D' Leau may be able to return to winning ways after a decent season of sprinting this campaign. He's ran some good races when placed at Doncaster and Ascot, and is 3lb lower than when winning this last year. Whether he is as good is a question mark, but he likes the track, has a good weight and could get back to his best.

Orvar is a sprinter who showed a lot of promise last year, but hasn't built on that this season for Robert Cowell. He was a listed winner in Turkey as a two-year-old, but hasn't won in four starts in handicaps. For his Bath third, he drops another 1lb and could be up to the task on this mark.

3:35 - Morando (11/2)
It's going to be a muddy track, which Roger Varian will be smiling about as he runs Morando in the Group Three event on the racecard. He hasn't raced on this sort of ground, but should enjoy the conditions. His form isn't bad having won at listed level, before finishing a promising fourth in Ireland a fortnight ago. Today's test looks spot on for him.

4:10 - Sepal (9/2) , Jaameh (7/1) ew
Bidding for a fourth straight victory is Sepal for Iain Jardine, who has been mightily impressive in her wins. She has rocketed up the handicap, enjoying a trio of comfortable victories and faces a much stiffer test this afternoon. She will relish conditions, and has a low weight along with a 7lb claimer.

Mark Johnston's Jaameh is beginning to drop down the handicap after midfield efforts throughout the summer. He was an encouraging winner at Newmarket and Chester. He acts well on soft, and could be up to running a very big race.

4:45 - Great Sound (9/2) , Time To Study (7/1) ew
John Gosden has an army of very exciting horses, and three of them battle it out today! I think Great Sound is the best of them, and the one I expect to go forward the most. He's won two from three, including a good victory at Newbury last time out. There is certainly more to come.

The same applies to Mark Johnston's Time To Study, who I believe could be a very nice stayer in the making. He was last seen finishing third in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot, and that worked out to be a very strongly run Group Two. This is much less tougher.

Best of the rest

Hugo Palmer's exciting colt Fajjaj could make a winning debut at Ascot today

1:35 Ascot - Fajjaj (4/1)
I have heard that this may be a very good horse in the making, and Hugo Palmer has found a good maiden for this horse to make his debut in. He's liked by his trainer, and appears to be showing all the right signs at home. I think he may be a winning debutant.

7:00 Wolverhampton - Expecting (11/2)
I do think this is a horse who will be winning in short time, and I fully 'expect' that to be today. He has posted some nice efforts, and the switch to the all-weather will do him favours. There's more to come and he can win off this mark of 76.

7:30 Wolverhampton - Central City (5/1)
Central City has been a frustrating horse to follow, but he is another who has got a win in him and that day could be today. He has a fair handicap mark, likes the all-weather and this doesn't look the toughest of races for him.

Lucky 15 - (Tasleet/Fajjaj/Morando/Time Chaser)
