Sunday's Best Bets: Maul can Roll his way to a fourth win

After three winners from just five tips yesterday, Tippin’ Jimmy has his verdict for Sunday’s racing.

2:30 Ffos Las – Christopher Wood
I have been impressed by Ralph Beckett’s two-year-old so far this season, and he should return to winning ways this afternoon. He won nicely on his debut at Sandown beating a few decent horses that day, before finishing fourth at Ascot last time out. He carried a penalty that day, and faced some top horses including listed-placed Tigre De Terre and recent Doncaster winner Laugh A Minute. He looks a class above these.

3:15 Bath – Patchwork
Richard Hughes has opted to keep this horse in class four races, and despite carrying top weight he should be able to handle it. I’m not always a fan of backing a horse with a heavy weight in a sprint, but I do think this horse has improvement to come. He finished a very promising second at Newmarket last time out, clearly bumping into a top handicapper in Related. He should be up to winning on this mark.

4:00 Ffos Las – Rolling Maul
After three wins from three on the flat, Peter Bowen’s top hurdler is well adjusted to running on the flat and should extend his winning record to four today. He has won tidily in all his wins, and bigger races are firmly on his agenda. He’s here to improve his rating and he should do so by winning this weak handicap contest.

5:00 Ffos Las – Inconceivable

I have followed this horse for what feels like an age now, and hopefully today will be his day. He’s consistent enough, but always seems to find one too good. This race looks similar to previous starts, and I believe he hasn’t hit his peak yet. He’s got a big win in him, that could be today.
