Thursday's Best Bets: Launch on Ludorum

Tippin' Jimmy enjoyed a very profitable day yesterday with two winners, including a 4-1 'cert'. He has more tips for Thursday's racing.

2:00 Yarmouth - Gabr (1/2)
I backed Gabr last time out, and he finished second in arguably one of the best maidens of the year at York. The form of the Convivial always works out strong, and he wasn't defeated too far by the clearly talented Mark Johnston debutant Dream Today. This race isn't anywhere near as competitive, and he should go one better today.

3:00 Yarmouth - Forever In Love (2/1)
A frustrating horse to follow this season is Forever In Love for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore. She's enjoyed some strong form when a narrow loser at Wolverhampton, before finding one too good at Haydock last time out. To break her maiden this requires a little more, but the ground should be fine and she carries a handy low weight.

3:25 Pontefract - Ludorum (3/1) NAP
This is an absolutely huge horse, and one that could have a huge future too! Richard Fahey's three-year-old broke his maiden on the third time of asking at Ripon, beating an odds-on shot in pretty good style. He's the kind who will improve loads from that first win, and connections must be rubbing their hands with delight after he was gifted an opening mark of 74. He should be up to winning this very well.

4:00 Pontefract - Tirania (7/2)
William Haggas thinks quite highly of his filly Tirania, and believes she could even get some black type later this season. If she is good enough for that, then she needs to be winning a handicap of this class and raising a mark of 88. She's won two races, including a good win at Musselburgh last time out. The drop in trip should be fine for her, and hopefully she can act on the ground too. The favourite Clon Coulis is a huge danger.
