Wednesday's Best Bets: Preaching to Heaven

Tippin' Jimmy has some strong fancies from Wednesday's runners.

1:30 Sandown - African Friend (7/2)
A horse I have followed all season is African Friend for Henry Candy, and I am hopeful that today he can come back to his best. I was hugely impressed with his maiden win, before he posted a strong third place finish at Thirsk last month. When last seen at Ascot he was very disappointing, but the 2lb drop in the handicap, drier conditions and drop in trip are all in his favour today. This race is much weaker, he should run really well!

4:05 Fairyhouse - Focus On Heaven (5/2) NAP
This is a horse I think could be really really good, and is certainly got some quality. She was very well supported on her debut, which indicates she's well fancied at home and was narrowly defeated at Naas. That maiden form looks rather strong, Oaks third Alluringly was only fifth that day. If she can come back from her long break in good shape she should be up to winning this. The ground is ideal! I think she is my NAP of the week!

4:35 Beverley - Angel's Whisper (7/4)
Jeremy Noseda has had a fine season with his two-year-old's and Angel's Whisper is just another maiden winner in waiting. She enjoyed a very good debut, finishing second to a quality horse in Lamya. Her two-and-a-quarter length defeat sets a high standard. This race isn't a walkover but she should go well.

4:55 Yarmouth - Zabeel Prince (Evs)
There are quite a few horses I keep an eye out and funnily enough three of them are all running today. Zabeel Prince is certainly one of those at the top of my list. He stepped up from an encouraging maiden second to win so well at Nottingham last time out. He bolted clear of the favourite in very good style, and should be able to follow up in this handicap.

5:25 Yarmouth - Jumira Bridge (5/1)
A second for Roger Varian I do like a lot is Jumira Bridge, who still has a fair bit of improvement. He won two races in April both in good style, and has continued to creep up the handicap. He was a bit disappointing last time out and certainly needs to bounce back today!
