Tippin’ Jimmy had a perfect day yesterday, backing no less
than four winners from four tips. After his 94-1 win, he hopes to repeat his success
with his verdict on Tuesday’s action.
2:35 Lingfield - Demurrer (8/1)
I am not always a fan of backing debutants but I have heard
some very good feedback about this horse, and connections are expecting him to
shape into a nice horse. Michael Bell has a good record at this venue, and
Demurrer comes from a strong American family. She may need the run, but
hopefully she could land this not so strong maiden affair.
5:00 Tipperary – Longing (4/5)
Costing his Coolmore owners a huge price, Longing is a horse
that really should be up to winning at maiden level for Aidan O’Brien. He made
a very encouraging debut when third at Leopardstown, where he wasn’t beaten too
far and similar to many at his yard will improve a lot from the run.
Expectations will be very high!
5:15 Lingfield – Exquisite Ruby (11/2)
One horse that is just a winner in waiting is Charlie Hills’
Exquisite Ruby. She ran very good races in maiden company earlier in the
season, and has gradually been improving since competing in handicaps. She
posted her best effort yet to finish second at Chepstow, where the winner has
won again since. Unchanged by the handicapper, today may be the day she finally
scores.
7:10 Chelmsford – Send Up (15/8)
Sir Mark Prescott is a master
with middle distancers and staying types, and Send Up is the type of horse who
will only improve off her current mark of 63. She put three tricky maiden
events well behind her before striking on her handicap debut at Brighton. She
won that very easily, and Luke Morris didn’t have to work too hard. This 5lb
rise is fair and there looks plenty more to come!
