Wednesday's Best Bets: Ragstone on the Road to glory

Tippin Jimmy runs us through the card, with his best four selections of the day.

2:10 Chepstow - Mushahadaat (5/2)
I read and heard some very strong things about this nice Brian Meehan colt just before he went to Glorious Goodwood and I hope he can make amends. On only his third start he was sent off favourite in Sussex but, like many, didn't deal with the wet conditions at all. He should be more effective at Chepstow, and if he can build on his initial promise should run a fine race.

4:20 Lingfield - Ragstone Road (6/4)
Another nice young improving prospect who should be up to winning a maiden is Ragstone Road for Richard Hughes. He made a very good impression when second on his debut, losing out by a short distance to a good horse in Rogue. That form looks exceptionally strong, and in this contest he should be able to improve from the run.

6:05 Gowran Park - Sorelle Delle Rose (3/1)
I have been watching this horse rather closely, and sadly not got too much back. She is a very nice progressing horse for Dermot Weld, and I think she is certainly better than her handicap mark suggests. She should like the conditions today, and I think there's much more to come.

6:55 Kempton - Ortiz (Evs)
Henry Candy has a very nice two-year-old in the form of Ortiz, and after a decent debut effort could be up to winning a maiden. He finished fifth on his only visit to the racecourse at Windsor just over a month ago. He was beaten by a fair margin, but there should be a lot of improvement in him in this much less quality race.
