Sunday's Best Bets: I'm sweet on Peach

Tippin’ Jimmy talks us through his best bets from Arc day, and the rest of the UK and Ireland’s Sunday racing.

2:20 Tipperary – World War (4/1)
Watching and following World War may have cost you quite a bit, but he looks to have a great chance of striking on the tenth time of asking. He’s finished second the last two times, bumping into some good horses and that sets a decent standard. His best form is on soft ground, so hopefully he will handle it heavy. He should go well on the track today too, and he will be winning off this mark within time.

2:40 Epsom – The Revenant (7/4)
This is a horse that has been talked about for the Derby and will put his classic credentials firmly on the line this afternoon. He won quite well on his Haydock debut finishing off well, and always looking like a mile trip would suit him much better. He defeated some good horses that day, and his form standard is quite high. Dee Ex Bee is liked a lot by the Johnston’s and may be a tough rival.

3:05 Chantilly – Enable (11/10) , Idaho (33/1) ew
Enable is a truly outstanding filly, and has been a sensational filly to watch this season. She won the English, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks very well, and was very good when beating Britain’s best in the King George. Winter, Ulysses and Cloth Of Stars all aren’t best over this trip, and the same could go to O’Brien duo Order Of St George and Capri. It’s a competitive race but Enable is the one for me.

I wouldn’t have a bet on this race at all, I think it’s too close. I am tempted to go each-way on Idaho, a horse I believe can crack it in Group One level. He was well beaten by Enable and Ulysses in the King George and struggled in America last time out. His Ascot win was impressive, and that puts him in with a shout. If he is on his day he can certainly be there at the end.

4:10 Musselburgh - Peach Melba (15/2)
I spoke to Charlie Johnston (assistant and son of Mark) about this horse and they fancy her to go well here. I like her a lot too, her hat-trick of wins in the summer was impressive where she beat some decent horses. Something was amiss at Ascot last time, but she should be better for the run. The track and trip will suit, and I am expecting a big run.

4:20 Epsom - State Sovereignty (15/2)
I watched this horse absolutely power home to maiden glory by almost twenty lengths and an initial mark of 77 seems quite reasonable. He couldn't do much in the mud at Hamilton last time out, but should be better suited to today's conditions. He's got a few good performances in him left this season.

4:35 Chantilly – Battaash (7/2)
It is very hard not to have been impressed by how Battaash has turned into a superstar for Charlie Hills this season. He has gone from strength to strength and has looked a classy sprinter when winning at listed, Group Three and Group Two level and that makes him a big player in this. He was rather disappointing in the Nunthorpe last time, and his trainer believes he just needed a break. He has a break, he should go better today.

5:05 Tipperary – Rathvinden (11/10)

This is a horse I have been following all season, and Willie Mullins’ novice chaser should be up to adding a fourth victory of the season. He has been rather impressive in his wins, and the former Supreme third took a step up from his below-par Killarney third. He is getting better as the season goes on and will be strongly fancied to win this.
