Tippin’ Jimmy has some strong fancies from Thursday’s
racecard.
2:10 Exeter – If The Cap Fits (8/11)
If The Caps Fits is a horse I am very excited by for the
season ahead for Harry Fry. He won very nicely on his first two starts at
Plumpton and Taunton, looking like a classy horse in the making. In Aintree’s
bumper he finished fourth but was a tad disappointing that day and connections
were clearly expecting better of him. Reports at home are very high, and he
should have a huge future ahead of him.
2:55 Worcester – Global Citizen (3/1)
Costing a huge sum to owners The Megsons, Global Citizen
could be another smart horse on show from today’s racing. He won on his debut
at point-to-point track Bellurgan Park in good style, beating a rival who has
won at that level since. He should have more than enough speed to win at bumper
level and looks an exciting horse in the making.
3:35 Ayr – Dark Devil (7/2)
Richard Fahey’s four-year-old Dark Devil may feel stunned as
he races outside of Chester, where he has previously raced on his last three
starts. He won on this ground on his penultimate start, before finishing second
where needing an extra furlong. He gets this longer trip and optimum ground
today, and on this mark he should go very well.
3:55 Worcester – Counter Shy (6/4)
Counter Shy makes his return at Worcester, where last month
he won over course and distance. His maiden hurdle victory was very exciting,
and this well bred Jonjo O’Neill novice looks to be the one to beat here. He’s
improving and could be a very smart horse in the making. He won for us at 14-1,
maybe he can do it again!
4:20 Exeter – Coastal Tiep (13/8)
Another one to watch this season is Coastal Tiep for Paul
Nicholls who hasn’t quite lived up to expectations yet. He is well regarded in
Ditcheat, and enjoyed a promising campaign over hurdles last season. He is
rated 134, but is definitely better than that. If he takes to chasing he could
run very well here.
4:30 Worcester – Kings Ryde
Nicky Henderson must be excited as the jumps season draws
closer, and there’s every chance Kings Ryde could be an exciting horse for him
this season. Following a debut third, he won very well at Southwell by almost
twenty lengths. He didn’t beat too much that day, but certainly proved himself
as a smart horse. One Forty Seven will be a big threat coming back from a
break, he will win races.
