Tippin' Jimmy runs us through Wednesday's racecard.
12:30 Nottingham – Tamkeen (13/8)
Owen Burrows must be confident that this two-year-old can finish the season with a maiden victory after a promising second last time out. He wasn’t beaten too far at Redcar, and that race was to a decent standard. He is improving, and should go one better this afternoon.
1:10 Fakenham – Royal Ruby (4/6)
Nicky Henderson has enjoyed a fine start to the new season, and he must be looking forward to seeing how Royal Ruby gets on as a novice hurdler this season. He won very well on his only start, picking up well to win a good Southwell bumper. The third has won since, so that form must be strong. Providing he jumps well, he has to have a big chance.
1:20 Taunton – Tunnel Creek (4/1)
Olly Murphy’s Tunnel Creek made a fine start for his stable when winning at Worcester back in September, but the two mile trip was way too sharp for him when only fourth at Ludlow last time out. He ran well that day, and off the same mark he should be able to be very competitive. Back to this trip he has a fantastic chance.
1:30 Nottingham – Monaadhil (7/2)
The flat season is close to its finish, so one horse who can capitalise against a field who may have had a lot more runs is Monaadhil. Marcus Tregoning’s three-year-old won on debut, before finishing second on his last outing at Yarmouth. That was a solid effort and he has only been raised 1b by the handicapper, he must be fancied to add a second career win today.
3:20 Taunton – Barman (7/2)
I am backing a second Henderson horse this afternoon, in the form of Barman. He’s posted some good form over the last few months, and finished a respectable third when last seen at Wincanton. I still think there may be a little more to come from him today, and with conditions set to suit he can run a strong race.
